Compassion
We understand the unique challenges facing families who care for children with complex medical needs. Every interaction is guided by empathy and respect.
Our mission to support families with tracheostomy care
The Millie Garbutt Foundation exists to preserve and protect the health of those caring for children and young people with an airway tracheostomy within the family or home.
We do this by offering a respite service through the provision of grants to pay for replacement night carers when:
We believe that caring for a child with a tracheostomy is both rewarding and demanding. Families need support to maintain their own health and wellbeing while providing excellent care at home.
We specifically support families caring for children and young people with airway tracheostomies at home.
Our grants primarily support families based in Surrey, where our charity is rooted.
We provide financial grants directly to families, not to institutions or organisations.
We understand the unique challenges facing families who care for children with complex medical needs. Every interaction is guided by empathy and respect.
We are transparent about our eligibility criteria, the limits of our funding, and the realistic support we can provide.
We treat every family with dignity, regardless of their circumstances, background, or the complexity of their situation.
We focus on practical support that makes a real difference - providing respite grants that give families essential rest.
We are not a medical organisation. The Millie Garbutt Foundation provides financial support for respite care - we do not provide clinical services or medical advice.
For questions about tracheostomy care, please consult your clinical team, hospital, or healthcare provider.
